I am getting given a utilized kindle. I have only kindle for pc. How do I de-register the previous proprietor and then authorise the utilised kindle for my pc (I have 25 books there already)?

I think the earlier proprietor has to do that by means of their amazon account. Immediately after they log into Amazon, they would go to "My Account," then "Control Your Kindle." Immediately after that they would go to "Control Your Devices." There is an alternative there to deregister the Kindle, then you would probably be in a position to register it to your own account from the Kindle itself.
