Can I charge my kindle by plugging the USB lead into my iPhone adapter?

Query by Jessica: Can I charge my kindle by plugging the USB lead into my iPhone adapter? I can not afford to acquire a kindle adapter and my laptop's bust so I have practically nothing to charge my kindle with. It looks like it'll fit into my iPhone adapter but I do not want to attempt it in situation it breaks the adapter or my kindle. Does anybody know no matter whether it will function or exactly where I can find out effectively? Best response:

If its a USB port, it will work. Will not stress it will not break your kindle or charger, any USB performs for any gadget, I always use my iPod USB port to charge my mobile phone.
